Sup fellow YAKKERS!? New to the site and stoked to meet new people to go fish with! I just bought a Jackson Coosa Kayak and am really looking forward to all the fish to be caught out of it this year! first fish I landed in my new Yak was a 6.2lb, 23.5'' Rainbow Trout from Indian Creek Res. In Markleeville, Ca. I caught this fish on the topline using a Fenwick HMG Triggerstick equipped with an Abu Garcia Revo SX reel. I had 17lb braid backing to a 6lb 100% flourocarbon liter.. I was using a 1/8oz Panther Martin with a Gold Blade with red spots and black body with red spots. It was an epic battle!!! mainly cause i was a noob and didnt know how to land the fish in my yak once i got it to the boat lol so that was a little interesting. but still landed the fish!! I mainly fish around Lake Tahoe or in Lake Tahoe... primary species targeted are: Mackinaw (lake trout) by trolling or jigging, Rainbows & Browns on the topline. Salmon out of the American or Sacramento rivers.. I am constantly traveling however back and forth from redding, ca. to Lake Tahoe... so I do get to get on Lake Shasta, Whiskeytown, Lewiston lake and the lower sac.. I grew up in east redding near a small creek (Cow Creek) that flows into the sac.. Target big Largemouth and steelehead at the inlet to the sac from Cow Creek... I am taking a week long trip down to San diego at the end of may for some La Jolla Kayak fishing for Yellowfin tuna and Halibut.
Anyways, Im Glad to be on this forum and cant wait to meet some fellow YAKR'S to go out and SlAY with.  :smt001j :smt003 :smt004

Welcome!  It sounds like you have the madness pretty bad already.  Congrats on catching that first fish.  See you on the water!

Welcome and tight lines!  With a first fish like that it's no wonder you have the madness so bad.  :smt003

Looking forward to getting out on the water with you when you're in the area.
