Anyone have any advice on a Captain for fishing out of Kauai in June.  Taking the family for a week.  We will do some tourist kayaking while we are there but I would love to get the kids into some fishing as well (does not need to be from a kayak).  Any advice appreciated.  Kraig

RU staying near Princeville?  If so there is a tour boat called the UFO that leaves from the (wialea?) River.  The guys on that boat run some fishing charters too and they are supposed to be very good at putting you on fish.  Go get some wahoo!

i'm in princeville right now.  you'll likely have better weather than me.  I have yet to recon for a charter, will let you know what I find if anything

Barefoot.  Thanks,  I'll try searching UFO and see what I can find.

Joe, I hope the weather improves.  Good luck if you get out there and I would appreciate any info you are able to gather.

The inland creeks and rivers have some tough and feisty, yet hungry smallmouth bass roaming around.  Light gear and tackle, worms, small spinnerbaits, flies if you like,....lotsa fun.

June & July are good months weather wise for fishing. I like Hawaiian style fishing out of Kapaa. Captain Terry is a local. Lets you keep a good portion of your catch and he seems good with kids and people new to fishing. There are a lot of other good Charters too. A lot of good info on all of Kauai on trip advisor and they have a great forum too!
