Hey guys. So this morning i was trying to fix my Werner paddle. The middle piece that connects the two ends of the paddle together came unglued from the piece it was supposed to be attached to... simple fix right? well no. I put super glue on the middle piece to glue it back to the main side of the paddle.. only when i did this the paddle was not straight after putting it together. so i try twisting it straight and it wont budge... Thats some quick drying super glue!! :smt009 so i try pressing the release button on the other side of the paddle to maybe twist it to a different setting in hopes it would line up.. only that it wouldnt twist either! I had managed to glue both ends of my paddle together  and not straight...  :smt013 :smt010 after trying to get the two peice apart i decided to just saw through the middle connector piece and bore out the old pieces in each hollow side of the paddles... not a big deal... however i need a new center connecting piece... anyone know the name for that piece or where i could find one? im hoping i dont need to buy a new paddle.. which i shouldnt... any help would be awesome! thanks!

Try nail polish remover, in the future, to loosten CY glue.  Works sometimes.  Yes, it is fast drying stuff!  If you find a new center connector, I would suggest 5-minute epoxy.

so the piece im looking for is called a ferrule. and apparently Werner doesnt sell replacements.. i'll have to send my paddle back to werner, pay 51$ for a repair not including the shipping and be out of a paddle for 2+ weeks...  :smt011 :smt013 :smt010 so i am most likely just gunna go to the hardware store and pick up some pvc and just glue the two piece together but straight this time.. pry cost me 5$ and i'll be able to use it tomorrow... ha. just wont be able to break the paddle down.. anyone got any other suggestions?

Consider having a dowel turned that fits snugly into one side of the paddle, epoxy it in, then have it be a light slip fit into the other half of the paddle & use a locking pin with retainer wire to join it.  Allows the paddle to be taken apart & replace the pin as it becomes too rusty to use.  The pins are only about $2-3.  Total repair ost about $10

Drive down to Weimar and pick up one of my Extra paddles and send that Puppy in for repair. Good paddles are worth repairing. I gotta get my werner push button replaced too.
my new name should be Ostridge. Got my head in the sand. Going fishing and letting go of the other stuff I can't control anyway!

Considering the stress on that part of a a 2pc paddle, I would say making it into a single piece as you described would be the cheapest and most hassle free way to get the use of your paddle back.
back in the day we did this to a few Swift rental paddles that we wanted to keep in circulation and it worked great. Clients never even knew they were using repaired gear.

Do yourself a favor, send it back for professional repair. It will pay off 10 fold in future service. In the mean time, now is the perfect time to consider that cheap back up paddle.

Im going to make this the back up paddle now and just do a cheap fix making it a one piece paddle.. its a low angle paddle anyways and i'd like to have a high angle paddle for sitting on top of my Jackson Coosa.. being that i got this paddle for free with the purchase of my kayak off craigslist i dont think im going to spend a ton on fixing it. i'd rather just buy a new paddle (when i can afford it) that way i'll be able to get the one I want and wont be out of a paddle in the mean time...

It might be too late for this application, but in the future, whenever working with super glue (CA), always have a bottle of "Un-Cure" handy, It is a CA debonder, and it works like a charm. You should be able to find it in any hobby shop. It will still remove the CA from your paddle if it's still worth saving. You can also get slow curing CA's at your hobby shop to give you time to properly set parts in place before final bonding.
You can get just as drunk on water
As you can get on dry land.
