Be careful when looking at used Xporters.  Early model had a small trucka dn long truck.  GF has a small truck model.  It won't extend to the height of full size trucks, and may not extend tot he height of some of the newer small trucks.

I am not sure how much you need the brand name, but I am considering:

this: http://www.summitracing.com/parts/plt-cg-901?seid=google

or this: http://www.salesavo.com/avo.php/SalesAvo/pd723568/Pro-Series_HTCARG_500_lb_Cargo_Truck_Rack

If you have the funds good for you, but I am doing my best to buy top of the line safety gear. Near as I can tell these would both be fine to carry a >100 lb kayak. You may get into trouble with enough lumber to build a shed, but both are rated pretty high... I just can't justify the cost of thule or yakima. Those make sense for vehicles like cars, because you are making a vehicle not made to haul stuff into one that can. But, a truck already has built in features for hauling. Just my 2 cents.

I'm selling mine, just posted it to Craigslist for 450 but will sell to ncka for $400.  Bought new in 2010 from rack and road in Sac.  Sold my kayak, no longer needed.
