I've always liked my RAM Revolution Tube for use on saltwater, but not so much on freshwater because the rod handles are long and thin and the rods just never sit in there quite right, and end up spinning around.  So finally I had an idea to use some extra 1-1/2" PVC to extend the rod holder, and make a cut-out for the reel and trigger to slide into, and feel nice and secure.

So far it's been working out perfectly for trolling for me.  Thanks to PatR's custom mounts I have the tubes mounted right behind my seat facing outwards and I can position them in a variety of ways.  Even use both on one side of the yak for drift fishing!

Very nice work Al.

But what really got my attention Al was that PVC behind coming out of the molded in rod holders.

That's still a work in progress  :smt002  Basically it's to keep the AI's main line going to the sail under control.  I already lost a 400$ combo due to the line lifting the rod out of the rod holder and into the ocean  :smt009
