I thought there were studies that lobster and crabs don't suffer...  comparing this to dogs and cats is a bit of a stretch.  I'm surprised Whole Foods caved in, but their target market probably consists of hippy vegans...

these PETA people are totally getting out of hand  :smt011 Next thing you know, kids won't be able to buy fish for their fish tanks because the PETA people think that fish are unhappy and need a fishtank as big as living room so they can live more comfortable  :smt009

Bill, I suggest we have a kayak fishing derby every year and call PETA and ask them if they want to sponsor our event  :smt003

I feel like lobster tonight :smt002

Yeah, but it really isn't that big of a deal. We buy all our crab frozen and it can be steamed easily and taste fantastic. Same deal with lobster. When visiting family in Maine, I definitely enjoy stopping by a lobster pound for some freshly boiled 'lobstah'. But fresh frozen is great. I guess I would rather know it was cooked and frozen when it was right out of the ocean, than have it hauled all the way across country in a container with God knows what in the water.

That is my two cents.

I've been thinking of building a big cage to keep live PETA people in, but then I thought, maybe it would be more humane to kill them and freeze them!

PETA folks are a bunch of urban dwellers that make the mistake of thinking their empathy with animals is a shared thought process that animals go through. I'd bet that their animals suffer in their care. Take dogs for instance, they want someone to dominate them. You don't have to hit the animal, but it does want a pack leader and  decision maker.  I bet the PETA people don't dominate their dogs and have pets with mental complexes from not being treated consistent with their instincts.
