I also made it up to Ft. Bragg this weekend, but didn't bring the yak.  Had pretty decent success with limits on abs.  Not huge, but nice and thick.

Sunday's Abs...

Monday's Abs...

But, the real fun was salmon.  Went out on a party boat (the Rumblefish) Sunday afternoon, even though we heard only 3 fish were caught on Saturday's afternoon boat.  Seemed pretty hit or miss, so we decided give it a try anyway.  Out of about 24 poles in the water, only 6 kings were caught.  3 silvers were caught as well.

Doesn't sound like much fun, except that 2 of the kings and 1 silver were mine, winning me the big fish pool ($100) turning the afternoon into a nice windfall.

Both fish were between 15 and 20lbs, and full of krill.  Pretty good fights with the hook popping off the last one just as it was netted...

Great stuff. Salmon look fat and juicy.  I can't wait to try salmon fishing at fort bragg during july 4th weekend.
