HI guys, been using a garmin Oregon 550t, however I would like to find something larger and easier to see in the sun.  I've been holding the garmin in my hand but would like to get a gps unit(not ff/gps) that I can mount and see at a distance.  Any suggestions would be great.
Thanks

Gamin's new model is the Montana.  It has a larger screen that claims to be easy to read in bright sunny conditions.  This is next on my purchase list.

Ken, I have found the key to better viewing is to have the gps mounted close enough to swivel the screen to the optimum angle as your kayak moves & turns in & out of the sun's glare. For this reason I have both my combo Elite4 FF/gps & my handheld 60csx mounted on the small ram balls directly forward of the rudder up/down pullcords on the rails of my Hobie. If you mount the gps too far away & you can't angle it to avoid the glare of the sun the size & brightness of the screen may not help. Having the gps close also helps for quick marking of waypoints too. jim
