Me and the six million hertz man paddled 9.5 miles trolling some combination of rebel fastrac with flashers,
hairraiser, and big deep bass crank up past pacifica pier and back.

Generally in 30 feet of water or less. looking for striper.

It was a bit of sightseeing trip, neither of us had paddled much out of the lindamar cove.  launch and landing were utter cake. We were not as focused on catching as we might have been. no bait drifting.

no fish. no bait jumping. no real bird activity. greg marked some possible bait south of the pier.
I found one nice bomber lure (mark sosoin signature) floating.  :smt005.

Found one group of shorefisherman elbow to elbow with a striper on the beach, between the pier and rockaway.

Mooch, I went in close at rockaway and had to dodge a big fat wave. drifting in there could be hazardous! The whole
cove is 20 feet deep or less. that is sketchy.

Same for the nook on the next beach with the striper shorefisherman. I trolled in close and had to get airborne over
a fatty coming out. whew.

There was fog, so I chickened on the salmon fishing, maybe tomorrow, not sure yet. It was fun, but a striper would
have made it a lot more fun.

It looks like most of the people in coastside derby were 8-10 miles out and south from HMB

If I was able I'd be tempted to just go straight out from LM a few Maybe in a week or two

blue, I saw those reports and plotted them on my chart and saw that too. I figured you would say there
would have to be a few in closer.

the charts also show that if you paddle a little SW from lindamar, you get to deeper water quicker, like
off montara.

I saw a post on coastside that suggested that after the wind blows hard for a bit, the bait and salmon move south,
perhaps to capitalize on the upwelling that happens. So I'm betting that the fish moved south a bit and lindamar
might be the right place.

I looked hard in that direction yesterday but it was foggy, and I'm still pretty new to my GPS.

what I learned yesterday is to enter a waypoint for the launch, then immediately put it in the mode to
navigate back to launch. At all times it shows the direction back to launch, distance to launch, and estimated time back,
plus your current speed. That's the perfect combo of information since I also have a regular compass easily
visible.

Last night I was feeling dizzy, a little congestion or something pushing on my inner ear, not normal for me,
so I did not go today,  :smt010.

My goal of a salmon from the kayak this year seems to be getting further away not closer these days.

You picked a good time to be on IR, the fish were alll up north and the wind was blowing the last 6 weeks.

Probably it will be fishable right as you return, you can pick up where you left off!

I recall a handful of kayak salmon successes the last month even with that tho. enough to give me hope that I can
convert an opportunity before the season closes.

Well, I feel better about yesterday, I did refine my GPS use. did something that moves me to my goal.

As for electronic devices I have made my living on them, but I still pretty much hate 'em too!
