Players purposely sacrifice themselves for glory and massive paychecks.  I don't sympathize with them at all, they're making their own decisions. 

.....and I'd think that the president would have more pressing matters to address.

Agreed. Maybe e should spend some energy on our economy and leave sports and gun control alone
