My trusty camera is acting up. First it will not store time and date, asks everytime I turn it on and now a fully charged battery gets drained in seconds, I tried a new Li battery and same problem. Anyone experience similar issues/fixes?

Rob, I had an issue with the camera once where the message said battery needed to be charged. Charged the battery and still didn't work. Tried a different battery with the same result. I suspected the charger really wasn't charging at all. Had Olympus check it and they verified the charger was at fault. So, just saying it might be the charger even though it acts like it is charging your battery for a couple of hours. If you know anyone else nearby who has the same camera and charger, try using it to verify.

Thanks Howard, now that you mention it the charging light did go off rather quickly last time on both batteries, I will try tonight!

I bought three of these a few years ago.  performance is #hit, including battery life.  haven't touched it in years
bag it and get a new one, save yourself frustration

It's been awesome and treated me well for years. I bought it in 2008 off Olympus' eBay refurb site, may be part of the problem.

I tried my other charger and two batteries won't take a charge, but the charger is charging another " good" batt just fine. I am worried the camera shorted out the batteries, afraid to put a third in it to test it,

i wonder if there is a way to test the camera with a meter
