Tell me if my live bait strategy is the best way to do it.

I boat around until I see a bait ball on the fish finder

Lower a sabiki rig with small hooks, #14 or so, if fish don't bite, put a little squid on the hooks and try again.

After catching bait fish and moving to an area the salmon are hitting I set up a mooching rig and hook the baitfish thru the nose and out the mouth? Do I use a one hook setup or have a second hook like a krippled anchovy?

My hooks are barbless, how to I keep the baitfish on the hook?

If I have kept my baitfish in good shape how long will they be effective when hooked.

How to I hook up squid?

Would I use the same setup for halibut or would I use a slider with barbed hooks?

OK, having no experience with this, I wonder if a spool of that magic string (elastic sticky string) would keep the baits on the barbless?
Let me explain something to you. Um, I am not "Mr. Lebowski". You're Mr. Lebowski. I'm the Dude. So that's what you call me. You know, that or, uh, His Dudeness, or uh, Duder, or El Duderino if you're not into the whole brevity thing.

Magic thread won't work with live bait. I can recommend using Bobber stops on the hook after putting on live bait
