I am!  :smt006

I have a novice question for you though.....so do people wear any base layers (or even under garments) under their wet suits?

Physics-wise, I was thinking not...but then I started to second guess myself and decided to ask  :smt003

I might even try to video the class, it would be good reference material. Thanks for your hard work to make this a great event Dan.

Great idea Doug!

... but this sounds like a great learning opportunity. I might even try to video the class, it would be good reference material. Thanks for your hard work to make this a great event Dan.

Doug

As much as I'm keen on reference material and video taping (I totally get the educational piece of it), please don't film me, LOL! I don't want ANY video proof of how much I am going to look like a dork out there, especially while I'm attempting self-rescue for the first time  :smt044

Truth is, filming might make some people nervous - and I will be the first to admit it, haha. I want to concentrate on learning, not on what people might watch on Ytube.

Any chance you could film something at the end with volunteers? Maybe a quick demo of what to do and not to do while on the water?

We will keep it low key. I have no plans on Filming and no one has contacted me about filming. I plan on giving simple and effective tools to get you and your friends out of the water quickly so you can keep paddling and fishing. This is going to be laid back. We will all learn together and experiment. No pressure.

Rash guard shirt and swim trunks.  You never know when or where you might have to take off your wet suit.  You might not be near a car or towel.  I have no problem going around in the buff, but out of courtesy to others I try not to.
So long and thanks for all the fish!!!

Dan, thank you! You have eased my fears, hehe.
I know I'm a goof-ball, so I appreciate the low-key reassurance :smt003

And thanks for the tips guys - and I am glad you will be laughing with me (instead of at me, LOL).

Looks like we will have some conditions to play in on Saturday! Nothing to crazy, but enough to make our class very educational. Due to the wind, swell and tides I want everyone on the water to be in a sit on top kayak longer than 12' or a sit in kayak with minimum two bulkheads. Also everyone participating in the class also needs to have at least a farmer John Wetsuit, splash jacket and insulating layers, and or a Drysuit. If you wear a Drysuit please layer up with poly, or wool layers NO COTTON!

Again this clinic is going to be safe and educational, I just want everyone to be prepared to get wet. Please PM me with any further questions.
