Turlock lake

Got really bored today and the A C on the house is down untill Monday, in the 100's here.  So I tryed Turlock lake today. No luck with night crawlers, but I caught 3 nice Rainbows on a cast master. All released,

craig, did you cast or troll that kastmaster?

I did a drift at the inlet, casting as I drifted out into the lake. I like to paddle as far up the inlet as I can and just let the current push me around on the drift. Sometimes I'll wind up making a big circle with the way the back current works.

Turlock is a mud hole, the only clear cold water is at the inlet.

maybe I need to try more drifting. that sure seems to work well for you.
