Does anyone have the ML casting version of this rod? I have been considering one for awhile and I was wondering if any of you West Coast guys use them. Can it handle a WSB or YT?

I am planning on coming out to fish the San Diego and possibly San Fransico area this year and I was thinking this might be a decent all around rod for the task.

I have one myself but have not hooked any fish on it yet but if I recall PolePole had a write up on it last year or so.
Use the search on General or Gearing up section

Thanks for the response guys. I found the review you were thinking and I think it is unlikey I will hook into a monster like that guy.

Mike, what's your impression of the rod? I have an amazon gift certificate that I was looking to use.

The rod is very well made, the sto ability is awesome and looks real sharp. I have never fished with it.
It seems like the rod would be well suited for offshore species, maybe sturg, squid, lings and big hali. I bought a Travala MH about the same time I got this rod. After fishing the Travala I never needed the Okuma.  :smt003

Yes and Yes.  But mine is a spinner.  I have one I took to Hawaii with me then used it to catch a WSB out of Monterey.  I paired it with a Penn Sagus 4000 and really like it as an extra rod for seabass fishing.
