When going for bait using a sabiki what size is best for bay type bait ?  People have talked about getting bait off Berkeley, exactaly where is the poop pipe ?  Should I be asking about fishing locations in this forum?  All this is new to me.

Welcome to the board, yakindon!

I dunno what most people would answer, but I'd say depending on the type/size of bait you were trying for, somewhere between Sabiki sizes 10 and 14.  Maybe other more experienced folks would have a more specific answer.

For fishing locations, check out the Fishing Reports forum.  There's a ton of resources and great helpful people in NCKA.

BTW, here are some "special codes" (cause we'd rather spend time fishing than typing) for locations:
OP = Oyster Point
BP = Berkeley Pier
ARW = Alameda Rock Wall

There are others...  Maybe we could have a thread for NCKA acronyms?

The poop pipe is located in Oyster Point - The boaters call it "the swirl". If you paddle straight out from the boat launch - maybe a quater mile - you will see an upwelling on the water - there is an under water pipe that shoots out reclaimed water - the bait hang around this area. Sometime's you'll see several boats hanging out in this area, gathering bait. Wish I could give you more specific details - but I don't have a GPS yet...
