Gene sure knows Tahoe like the back of his hand.  He took my wife and I on a charter during our mini-honeymoon back in '05.  I just wish that he released more of his trophy catches, considering his profession.

I yakfished out of Zephyr once a couple summers back.  No depthfinder or knowledge of the area, but I'd heard of St. Denis for past big Mack catches in the CR area.  Hmmm - next summer vacay project.   :smt007

Being an honorable sportsman is way more important than what you catch.

That's a big Brown but I'd love to see the picture of his son Mackinaw  :smt007

"The giant trout was 33 inches long and weighed 15 pounds, 9 ounces. The lucky angler was Gene St. Denis, who landed the fish after what he called "a hellacious 40-minute battle." It was netted at the boat by son Eric, who caught a 28-pound, 9-ounce mackinaw trout fishing with dad two weeks ago in the same area."
