Can anyone confirm after having been there in person that the "resorts" we used to pay to launch at are now free?  Like Markley used to be $20 and gated.  Is that gate wide open now?  Or Chapparal cove used to be $5 and gated.  Is that free too?  After reading about the Fed's shutting down the property management company that owned a bunch of the resorts on Berry, I read that they are all free now.  True?

I'm not sure about Chapparal, but I know for a fact that Markley Cove is still a $15-20 launch depending on time. However, Oak Shores and Capell Cove are still free.

I don't think Markley was ever turned over to the Feds.

I remember from the WON article that many groups are campaigning hard for their rights on the lake, fisherman wanting speed zones and speed racers wanting more all access areas, etc.,  and the Bur of Rec statedvthey will promote all motorized sport on the lake in equal fashion.

I heard that Markley was wide open on Christmas day and maybe that's the result of your confusion.  Can't speak on the others as the whole thing confuses me although I'll admit I don't follow it that closely since I don't regularly fish it.
