I got up this morning with fishing on my mind. After some careful deliberation with the wife and changing the first round of diapers so she could stay in bed she agreed to let me out for a bit. I originally set out for whiskey town but quickly changed my mind. A quick text to let hr know what I'm doing and I was off to jones valley on Shasta. In hind site not the best idea. The lake is trashed, floating crap every where, and chocolate milk clarity. Trolled out and up the Pitt river arm on my way to clikapudi cove. I didn't see or hear any boats and was enjoying my peace till I got to the cove. Apparently everyone had the same idea. With a few boats stacked up I decided to move out. The main body was a little clearer and I got a few strikes trolling a sling blade with a pink worm. Spent most of the time trolling round picking up floating trash. When I made it back to the truck I tossed out an old spinner from years ago and landed a maybe 7"? small mouth. Peddled 7 miles and the only fish landed was within 50 yards of my truck. Oh well it was nice to get out, Looking forward to Sundays striper event.

Good job getting out and covering some miles.  It's at least training for next season.   :smt001

I did the same thing on Lake Sonoma monday... muddy as hell and a complete waste of time in the fishing department.  However, the weather was nice, and it beat the hell out of working.

At least ya got out there and put in some miles!  I have a feeling water clarity's gonna be an issue in NorCal reservoirs for a while after all that rain.

Nothing like milky water to make your day. I've had days like that but it's just great to be on the water.
