Wow -- what a change from last week in those pix Eric just posted! --  We're getting just a little bit of rain down here in LA, but nothing like this.  West facing beaches are getting (for down here) some heavy surf.  -- What does rain like this do to those redds we saw last week?  (color me clueless)    :tard:

Well, we lost power, for about 9hrs on Sunday.  0715 wife said she saw a "Flash" outside in the direction of my neighbors place across our street.  I think the 7 foot long branch that was twisted up in power lines might have had something to do about that.  (Sorry for the picture quality, my cell is not that good.)
PG&E was working on some downed lines on HWY9 and lakeside so we (me & neighbor Dave) took a drive down to inform them of our outage and the branch tangles in the power lines.
Spoke to the foreman on site there, and he agreed to follow us back up!  Once there, he made some calls and couldn't promise but would try to get "His boys" up when when they were done on HYW9.
About 1630hr, I heard the rumble of there big bucket truck stopping out front!  Pretty soon there were 8 PG&E guys fixing out outage.  The branch, fell from height, got caught on the upper line and was flung around, twisting the other 2 lines together (Braiding them basically) causing both circuit breakers on the power pole on my property to blow. Took them about an hour maybe.  This crew was out of San Louis Obsipo.
Oh I might add, the 3 power lines that were twisted by the branch, start out horizontally mounted on the pole on my property, and go to a verticle mount on the pole by my neighbors place.  Where the lines actually start to cross to the Verticle attachment near my neighbors place was maybe 6 feet from where the branch hit the lines.

I got off easy in Bonny Doon. Lost power at the height of the storm around 10am, but after a few hours it was restored. Did see the remains of a wicked car wreck near Cave Gulch Saturday night, and there were a few minor slides and lots of ponding water on Empire Grade.

Lots of redwood branches down, but no damage other than a leak in the roof of my studio.

It'll be nice have a day or two to dry things out!
