Picked up this dune colored AI this morning.  Hope to sail it tomorrow at Doran.

I also carry my Hobie on my Prius. But I have an outback and permanently drilled in Yakima bases. Carrying the Outback is well within the weight capacity of 100 lbs, but I don't know if I would feel comfortable throwing a PA12 or 14 up there.
Are you comfortable that your racks and base will be able to provide substantial support for an AI and ammas?
I'd hate to see that pretty boat sprawled out all over the road still attached to the bars.

Wow!  I haven't even thought of trying my AI on my Subaru, but if it works on your Prius I guess i'm fine!  :smt044  Congrats and welcome to the Sailing-Darkside!!!  :smt003

Thanks Romanian Redneck;  I try to keep it under 70 mph.  Tie the front and back down and you could probably load all three of your kayaks on the prius.  It knocks the poop out of the gas mileage though.  From 52mpg to 35mpg.

But at least the Prius now looks cool..... :smt044

No sweat AL with my Subaru outback.  I carry my AI and my revo at the same time.  I beefed up my stock rack with a couple of iron bars.  The Subaru stock rack says 60 lbs max.  With the iron bars, I have put AI aks, amas, and revo with no problems.

Let the line out of your mainsheet and then the sail will swing out--port of starboard doesn't matter.

There are several good instruction videos on yourtube about sailing the AI.

You are such an accomplished waterman, you have that AI doing tailspins in no time.
