I recall a while back, someone was looking for a photographer to do some product shots for them; and I was clearing out an old thumbdrive and found these.

Just some of my product shots I have done in my recent past....

Hey Andy,

Send me some samples, I will shoot them for free; I have a nice lighting tent that will photograph them real nice.

I still owe you from GS6, remember?

Sorry Bro.... didn't know you were working with him..... I have a bunch of photography gear that I didn't wanna go to waste; and with the winter weather, I have alot more indoor time...

If you're already working with him, continue... I guess I will get stuck with Honey-do projects  :smt010

Sounds like the makings of a photo showdown!   :smt003

Glenn, some unsolicited feedback...
All personal opinions & written with best of intentions.  ;)

I like your pic 4 the best.

Open your aperature a bit more for things like lenses shot.  It's distracting for product shots to have the depth of field set shallow as it renders portions of the text blurry.  Of course there are more artistic shots where the narrow DOF is nice, but the lense shot doesn't seem to be one of them.   Text always stands out in images, so generally they benefit from being crisp.

Not sure if you were using light tent back then, but I can see you were trying to use different lighting angles.  On a couple of them, the lighting setup could use some tweaking.  On perhaps a similar note - where you hand-shooting or tripod shooting?  Focus on some (i.e. 3 & 6) seem a bit soft.

Smooth out the backdrop!  Ton of wrinkles on the black backdrop & some bunching and a huge crease down middle of red backdrop!  The black one would probably be easy to blend in post processing, but the pattern in the red one would be problematic and distracting.

Watch the reflections in pics 3 and 5.

Overall, good job... just a few things to make the images pop a bit more.   :smt001

If you just need someone with a point and shoot camera, who doesn't know squat about aperature or f-stop settings or lighting then I'm your man.  :smt044
Here's one of my more recent photos taking early in the morning with less than perfect lighting.
Take in mind the subject matter.   :smt044

Dang Fuzz, you dont miss a beat! the upload conversion process takes alot away from the pic; but there are some flaws that the instructor also comments on... All but one of the were studio lighting projects for school (#4 was actually one that was published in an art magazine); including lighting tents, lighting table and multiple lighting angles.

All were shoot on Tripod, but at different aperature and flash settings according to the assignment; and some reflections on high reflective surfaces were unavoidable due to the limited space in my studio (length of livingroom  :smt044).

Here the website I built during a web-class i took... kinda has more pics...
