I work in sausolito, have heard mention of paradise and  am wondering where to put in and fish/drift. JTF, are you still working in mill valley? Or other Marin ideas, SQ, sanrafeal...

You can put in at the Tiburon Yacht Club (free park, easiest access, but you may have to haul over the rocks).  Good access to the paradise flats and san quentin.  Can get very windy with the lower hills in this area.

You can also put in at the Paradise Park Pier if you can sweet talk the ranger into letting you launch off to the left side of the pier by the "do not enter" sign (pay to park, easy launch, but you need to cart your rig up the hill to the lot).  Good access to some of the deeper water and good protection from the wind in the cove.

Apparently there is also a beach launch near that  research center (whatever it is) that is just north of paradise park, but I've never launched there and I think there may be a gate or something.  Duane may know more about that area.

yikks-- sausalito!

There is an absolute butt load of bait in richardson bay right now.
I waded strawberry pt the other day- had one really heavy hit, but was off within a few minutes- could have been a big leopard...
try launching off the doc at Acqua hotel over by Strawberry-- troll a hairraiser along the channel edge towards the mouth of the bay.  There are usually stripers in there by now. Directly across from the doc there is a marsh- that marsh has an outflow, you can see the little bridge over it- that is an amazing place on the outgo.

Also you can launch from the little beach at the kayak place in Saus-- and paddle over to strawberry pt area- same deal.

Corte Madera creek is a short drive away, and there are linesides there now (cats out of bag now), use TINY bait, or swimbaits (2-3" little white guys match the hatch).

Isnt Richardson a closed area for a certain time for the sturgies? If its open its a great spot - no wind lots of bait...

Ben, richardson bay is closed from Jan 1 till Mar 15 for sturgies.  Honestly, I've never fished for sturgeon in that area but have gone after stripers, halibut and salmon around there.  Problem with salmon and halibut is that they hang out in the areas where the current rips out the gate, never mind that idea.

But, as far as the paradise launch, I like the yacht club, from there its an easy shot to alot of productive fishing spots.  I'm not real good with Richardson Bay as far as spots are concerned, I'd be down to paddle and check it out also.  Maybe troll for stripers?

My real desire is to paddle across to angel island to the south side and drift 20 ft. of water parallel with the beach. Good stuff right there.  I've yet to do it in my kayak but I could only imagine that it would depend on the wind and tides for that spot.  I also know a little spot to hit on the way over.  Kinda infamous for stripers. :smt003  JTF..

Ill do that. If we chart the tides, we could probably circle the island and use it to our advantage. Give me a buzz after work, my phone sucks in sausolito.
