So my good friend's son really wants to go crabbing out on our kayak but he is 10 and pretty much a featherweight. I took him crabbing from the pier in Tomales for rock crab months ago and he asks me about dungeness weekly now. I really want to take him out and keep his interest in fishing and the outdoors up but I do not want to send him on a wild ride the first time out. He is a good swimmer but not a lot of kayak experience. Anyone have a recommendation of a spot we could crab that may be a bit calmer. I was really nice in Doran this weekend but I am still a bit gun shy as the sell and wind picked up a few times while we were out. May have to just take him on a PB but figured I would ask.

Best,
Phil

Yeah we have a tandem. Tarpon 130T. It's a pretty stable and comfortable ride. Did you have any luck crabbing in HMB where you hung out?
