went to Hensley lake this afternoon at 1pm, fished about 2hrs. Been going here and drifting a certain area and catching some every trip. New FF installed now so I wanted to see what was down there that I kept snagging on. I found a 12' rock pile with 18' on one side to 26' on the other. Water temp 67*, lite off n on breeze. Perfect for drifting a line. I set up a green 7" slim style worm and drop shotted over the pile. Got snagged 4 times in a row and finally broke off. I retied and thru out a little deeper so as to not get snagged again. This time I put a 5" green Senko on the drop shot. After about 2-3 minutes I snagged again, or so I thot til the fish started shaking its head and stripping drag. It jump a couple of time and i saw what looked like a 4lb'r. Got it close to the yak and it took more line with rod tip in the water. Im fishing a ML Loomis rod with 10lb line so I didnt pull too hard. Fish got tired and came up and I saw a 5-6 lb fish...I left my scale in the truck so got the fish secured on my Bro-in-law Travis's yak and we paddled back with him dragging the fish. He complained all the way. I got the board out and fish was 22" and weighed 6.2lbs. My PB.
