I am now the proud owner of a brand new 2011 Hobie AI!!!  Huge thanks goes out to Dave and the two gals at Kayak Connection in Santa Cruz!!!!!  This is now the 3rd new kayak I've bought for them and they have always gone above and beyond to help me out ... For anyone who knows me, that isn't an easy task sometimes!  I saw at least one NCKA member pass me on the freeway coming home.  It was a long, sleepless night waiting for the morning to come when I drive to S.C. for the new yak.  Now for the kayak bling!

~Bill

Pictures to come later.  I'm too excited now!

Pat,

Thanks.  I've heard you are the go-to for those.  I have quite a few of the side mounts so I msy need the starboard backers for them to hook to the bars.  Haven't decided on a ff yet.  Thinking the Lowrance Elite 5 with DSI but they claim only 200' depth.  Open to suggestions!!!  Anyone?

I actually looked at the 597 yesterday because it does switch.  I was hoping to play with both the h-bird and Lowrance before making my final choice.  As I am a Lowrance fan, I might have to lean towards the bird.  So late in the season, I might just wait and see what 2013 brings for new electronics.  I don't normally fish deeper than 200 but I don't want to limit myself either.

Thanks
