Launched on the inside of the rockwall this morning just before 6 :coffee:.  Paddled out to the gap with a light breeze in my face, then upon reaching the gap I was hit with the full brunt of the wind and some nas-tee chop on the bay side of the wall.  I figured, "hell, I'm out here now anyway" and put a shiner on my hook, starting my drift around the same spot I got my halibut a couple weeks ago.

I let the incoming tide drift me past the gap a couple times, for nothing but a chill in my bones and a bumpy ride.  Decided instead of starting another drift past the gap, I'd just keep on drifting on back to the boat launch.

Just before drifting past the fence towards the beginning of the wall, I hook into a halibut.  Just a little guy.  Didn't take him out of the water before unhooking him, so I can only guess he was around 16".  Rebait, and soon get another, nicer takedown, just at the corner of the wall.  I reeled the fish in pretty easy, but bonked it with the net on the first try and that spazed it out.  A couple guys fishing on the corner saw the splashing, so one dude starts yelling, "hey, thats MY fish!" :tongue5:  After three feisty runs, I get the fish netted and up on the yak.  After using my new gameclip to secure the 27" fish, I held it up so the guys could see, and said, "mine now".  Paddled in and was home by 10.

Nice Job Nate   Where do you lanch on the inside? When I lived there the base was still open and inside was off limits.

Mickfish-  There is now a giant hole in the fence separating the boat launch area from the old naval side.  JTF reccomended that route the first time I took the yak out there.  Hands down best way to get to the end of the wall quick.

Fishunter- Naw, those guys weren't serious :smt109, just loud.

Chuck- I thought it looked a little familliar too!  I just like the green background that bush provides.

Pat- Streaks break, man!
