Tahoe and Caples with pics

Short version, no love.
Launched out of Cave Rock. Easy and pretty.
This pic you can see the rock jutting out. The next one is a straight up shot from the kayak.



Dropped the traps and trolled for about 15 minutes. Checked the traps. Becky's had 6, Tote's ZERO. It was definitely Chicken over Pork.



It was hard to find structure in more than 15 feet of water from Cave Rock. We fished the minnows for a couple of hours with no luck. Those guys are tough. I would bring him up and he was feisty as when I first put him on the hook.
We went back and pulled the traps right brfore we were ready to leave. Becky had 25+. Mike had 3.

The next day we headed to Caples Lake. Got there just as the wind kicked up and didn't feel like dealing with it.
Caples is beautiful with large browns and rainbows.



Next time we get there earlier and definitely beat the wind.
We headed to a more protected lake called Burnside Lake. Headed down the dirt road. Got a little ways in and the gate was closed. No warning. Should be open very soon. As soon as all the snow melts I guess.
Lots of lakes along the hwy 88 corridore. I plan on hitting a lot of them this summer.
