Nice job. 16 miles?!!? You are the MEN!
I did the same thing for my transducer. I found that with this set up you have to adjust the sensitivity settings a bit on the FF. I wasn't marking any fish when those right nest to me were.  I adjusted the sensitivity settings and marked fish all over the place.

Hooray Chuck for beating the odds.  Randy and I were listenting to the amazing numbers of silvers caught while we continued our search for the elusive Monterey Bay Halibut.  It was staggeringly beautiful on Sunday.  We saw NO bait ball action on the southern end.  We had salmon rigs with us but saw nothing down there to stimulate hope.

Congratulations!

Nice Job Guys!

My fishing adventures are non-ex-sisting these past few months and I've got the fever bad. My ailen Yak is in dry dock hanging in my garage screaming at me to get back in the Ocean. I'm hopping to get out on fathers Day!

what was the size range of the Coho's? Good to know that there coming back

According to VHF chatter, most of the cohos were in the 4 to 10# range.  Often you can tell when you hooked a coho --- faster runs, more erratic moves.  They fought better than the kings for their size.

With the abundance cohos, I think it's time that the DFG open up a season on cohos... even if it's just for a few days or weeks.

Nice job guys-

Chuckster, you da' man... really nice fish. Sounds like you guys got into some decent action at least. Too bad you guys couldn't bring much home to show for your hard work. It's all good I guess. I'm dying to give it a go. Maybe next weekend if it's calm.... I hope...

good work chuck and crew!

I surfed 4-mile from 12 to 2 yesterday and it actually got calmer while we were out and a small south swell made it
great for surfing.  only 6 guys out including myself and my friend Leo.
My upper back is sore, but that's the price weekend warriors pay.

I was thinking how the 4-mile to santa cruz trip would have been easy that day.

kind of strange with the wind in the valley, but not at the ocean!

Glad you guys found 'em! I was considering joining you guys but I was pretty sure I couldn't make the paddle - I felt really weak in the morning and my stomach was still empty from Saturday's meal from LL  :smt011 I must have had something bad cause I could not hold any food after  :smt078

Nice HOG Chuck!!

Fuzz, when I was having Lunch at LL with Jason in Linda Mar, I met your dive buddy "Lance" (from Mountain View). He was with his nephew from Oahu - they had just dropped some crab pots at LM with a tandem kayak.

Mooch, you're everywhere!  I think this is 3rd person who's told me "Hey, do you know a guy named Mooch/Joel?  I ran into him at..."   :smt005

About the salmon fishing - WHEW!

This was my first time kayak fishing in Norcal & what an initiation!  Got an invitation call from Stuart saturday night.  Having no experience fishing here & not even having rod holders in my kayak, I didn't think I was ready, but Stuart urged me on... to the point of guaranteeing salmon!!!  :smt107  Like Chuck said, "never doubt Stu when it comes to salmon fishing."  I had to go...

Couldn't have asked for a better intro into fishing here, and being fortunate to land 2 Coho's as my first fish from a yak(in cali) was pretty sweet too  :smt004  Much thanks to Stuart for setting me up with gear & walking me through everything!    Chuck, that salmon was a beauty - I thought it should have gone 20#.  Probably lost a bit of weight sitting in the tankwell too  :smt009

Hey Blue they closure doesn't come down this far. It stops in San Mateo County, so Moss is open until the regular season closure around Sept. 24th.

I trashed my Subaru last week so I'm out of the running for a spell, cracked rib cracked car etc and seriously envious of anybody who's getting on the fish
Hey Blue... I was wondering why you haven't been posting salmon reports/photos lately.  Get well soon!!!

We were thinking about you yesterday as we paddled forever to find salmon.  However, I picture you doing it in much less favorable conditions. :smt002
