I had sold my Gregor a few weeks ago and was not planning on replacing it with another boat.  Went fishing on the Sac river with a buddy that has a super nice North River boat which made me miss not having a boat.
This followed me home this morning:

While it is by no means in the North River class it is an upgrade from the 15' MX510 Gregor I had!  I plan on slaying the Sac river Salmon soon!   :smt003

You must have back problems,I guess one way of relieving back pain is by pulling some of that money out of the mattress  :smt005 nice boat, you got too many cool toys!
My biggest worry is that my wife(when I'm dead)will sell my fishing gear for what I said I paid for it

The boss (my wife) told me I could not get another boat until I sold some toys so I sold off a few to get this.   :smt001

Ain't that the truth!  Going to be a few changes on that Stryker that won't be easy on the pocketbook!   :smt009  Plus I don't have any Salmon/Striper gear so I will have to get rods n reels to target them.

I was going to make a reference to that too.  :smt044
When I think I NEED new gear to target a specific species I always think back of what they used way way back in the day.
They had more fish, bigger and stronger fish, and the best gear at that time is probably comparable to some of the cheapest stuff we have available today. They still managed to land those giant fish.
I used to go to Kiene's Fly Shop in Sacto almost daily. I worked right across the street and one of my best friends worked there so many a lunchtime was spent hanging out there.
Guys would come in and spend 3K on getting set up; best of everything.
I still out fished them with my $60 Cortland rod and $35 Pfleuger reel.
I bet the rods and reels you have right now would still catch your target species.

I have a tiny gregor i got as a gift but haven't used it...seems like too much work for same result as kayaking...   in the year I've had it ive only been tempted to use a couple times.  Might take baby boy out tho...  who knows :shrug
