Anyone have any success using a throw net for bait fish? Seems like a great way to instantly fill your live well. Of course you'd have to stand up to use it...I'm sure lots of bait fish hang out inside the jetty and launch areas though...

Notice hes on a PA. By Hobie's own definition its not really a kayak. It has a sper wide beam.

I've done it with some success on my T140. Its a great way to practice self rescue while tangled up in rope and weighted netting. The net has a particular affinity to all manner of deck rigging making the endeavor rather interesting.

This is good. Is there any DFG rule for using bait fish nets? Thx.

Yes. They are enforced. Pay attention to allowable species and bag limits.

Also pay attention to what bodies of water are legal to use the net in...

Holy #$%^ batman!  I'd say he filled his bait bucket and his partner bait tank that was filming, with that one toss!

Be aware of this as well:
1.63. MOVEMENT OF LIVE FISH. Except as provided in Sections 4.00 through 4.30 and
230, live fin fish may not be transported alive from the water where taken.
