Went to the Strawberry River in Northeastern Utah with my son Logan, his friends and Zoe for our annual cabin trip. Fly fished and burned spinners for countless brown trout that were all the color of fall. Fat browns and cutthroat hit in every pool. Off the hook early fall bite. This spectacular fish was gently released into EVOO and garlic. On a side note, I have a week off and need to hit the coast with the yak. Can do Big Sur to Shelter Cove. Let me know. Up for anything in the salt. Life is good my friends.  :smt006

So I'm packing my bags for the Misty Mountains, where the spirits go...........

Beautiful colors!  Thx for the exotic report. Hope you make it to the coast for some salt time - rocks/lings are closed at the Cove, but a few big kings are getting trolled up out front right where you caught that nice ling, and halibut is still open too.

Wonderful report!  I grew up doing this in the high country of New Mexico and Arizona.  Beautiful fish! Brings back memories.  Dont forget to release the big ones for reproduction.

No, that's the Green River. The Strawberry runs out of Strawberry Reservoir and into Starvation Reservoir. Here are some shots of the Green below Flaming Gorge.
