Being new to Salmon fishing, I am really confused by the regulations concerning salmon fishing in this area (Sac river and AR)...What I cannot find is a definitive answer on how many and minimum size to keep salmon in these locations...also, do I require a stamp? Are barbless hooks required? Seems like depending how far north/south/east/west you are on these river systems determines if you can keep or not.  HELP  :smt003

2 Salmon limit. No size restriction. Sac river at least to Chico not barbless. Look up the rest here.....

The AR has a lot of different regs depending where you are. In the upstream section,,basically from sailors bar down to the power lines at the Ancil Hoffman it is barbless hooks only and the limit is two. Make sure you have barbless,,fish and game and rangers check people regularly.

As long as you know where you are it pretty easy to follow the regs,,even though they are confusing to someone who is new to the area.

Good luck

AR regs are simple.
Limit-2
If u are on your kayak you are in one of two spots.... Sunrise-barbless

Howe-anything is ok.

If you are jigging anywhere on the American and your jig weighs over an ounce single hook.

No gafs allowed ( seen a guy gaff one last week, lucky no one else did)

Speed limit for boats 5 mph.
