Joe (sandbag), myself and two other buddies headed to Rollins Lake for a weekend of camping and fishing.  We all had a great time.  Joe "claims" to have caught the first bass but couldn't produce a picture so we are all very skeptical.

The fishing during the day was slow, very slow.  Friday we fished some but came up short.  We tried worms and senkos, but nothing was biting. Joe and I marked a lot of fish but they just werent biting.  Friday night joe paddled out to the dock and got this beautiful catfish that measured in at 21" after about 5 minutes of fishing. So him and I rushed back out there and got nothing.  We decided to move down the doc some in our yaks into shallower water, about 35', where we got a lot of action.  I hooked and landed up my first ever catfish.  I didnt get a good picture, it was wrapped up in the net and i was trying to avoid getting stuck but it was roughly 10-12".

After a huge takedown that popped off Joes pole and a couple more small bites we called it quits around midnight.

Saturday Weimarian (Ron) also joined us for some early morning action but all three of us were skunked.  Joe and I were dropping shotting senkos and flukes, I think Ron was dragging night crawlers but nada.

Saturday night my buddy hooked into this nice 19.5" catfish, we only have this picture.

Joe and Jaime were nice enough to wake me up to show me by slapping me in the face with a catfish tail... I won't soon forget that boys.

I tried for some bass Sunday morning, with crank baits but again I couldnt get them to take it.  Again I marked a ton of fish near the boat dock but they weren't interested in my offerings.

All in all a great weekend and good people to fish with!

Btw I did get Joe back for the catfish face slap by leaving the opened catfish dough in his supply box when we left...lol!  Game on Joe!

That is hella funny! Thanks for the report, pics, & congrats on your first catfish. At least your buddies didn't stuff that catfish down into your sleeping bag.   :smt003

Skunked, but saw about 6-8 salmon rolling in about 3 hours.  It was non-yak but those salmon are coming, just not in full force yet.  Going again tomorrow afternoon
