green mussels

i think that's what they're called  what are the regs for them and when are they legal. I can't find anything on them on DFG. Thanks.

The recreational season for California sea mussel (Mytilus californianus) and bay mussel (Mytilus trossulus) remains open year-round. The daily bag and possession limit is 10 pounds (in the shell) of California sea mussels and bay mussels in combination.

Note that the California Department of Public Health monitors and annually quarantines mussels to prevent human cases of paralytic shellfish poisoning and domoic acid poisoning. The quarantine is usually in effect from May through October, and applies only to sport-harvested mussels intended for human consumption. Do we have green mussels here in Cali? Do you mean Green Lipped Mussels? I believe those are native to Australia, but they may be grown here via aquaculture. I've had them and they are delish.

I think our own blue mussels are delish in their own right though. I'll be heading out for some as soon as my wife (who monitors plankton) gives the OK for our local waters. The hotline is always the last confirmation I get & then it is off to the rocks.
