Maybe he got a look at his beard in the boats mirror and passed out from the horror.

It's nice to know that there was someone actually policing the water. Unfortunately, I don't see too many of them around. I've seen so many boaters, water skiers and jet skiers get away with a lot of shit  :smt011 IMO, people tend to break more laws when they know that there's no one watching 'em.

....if boaters were licensed, It would have been nice to see his license taken away. (then he'd have record under his name as well  - for being drunk and stupid on the water)

Mooch, he's getting charged with a BUI/DUI. His license is gone for the next year and I also wouldn't be surprised if he lost some or all of his sponsors. Gonna be hard for him to get to any lakes to pre-fish or on tourney days now. Hope he gets help for his substance abuse problem.

I hope he does get the help he needs but in the mean time, I'd rather not have him operating anything that will put anybody else in danger. He's lucky that no one else got hurt because of the stupid decision he made before turning that key.

...just imagine if there were kids swimming and playing around that dock he hit  :smt011

I went to a small high Sierra lake on Saturday that is very isolated and not easy to get to, when I got there at 7am there were already a bunch of 20 year olds stumbling around drinking Jack Daniels out of a bottle, one of the kids had no shoes or shirt on and it was in the low 40's, he got in a yak and paddled around the lake with no PFD on, luckily there were no power boaters on the lake and I did not have to worry about him running me over in my yak.  They were a very rowdy and noisy bunch but they were having lots of fun and never really bothered me.  I did give them a couple of bleeder trout and they quickly took the trout to their camp and ate them for breakfast, maybe all they took camping was their booze?   :smt003

Bottom line is that this guy made a poor decision and I'm glad he got caught. Let's just hope he learns from this experience.

Peace out.

That is some crack police work there!  Book em, Danno!

What is surprising is that one person getting arrested on Clear Lake makes the news.  It's kinda like the Delta out there.

Well Joel I guess he must have shaped up cause he just won the U.S. Open on Lake Mead!
After his arrest he did post up a sincere apology to his fellow anglers over on CalBassin.
Guess he learned his lesson. jim
