Updated my Revo with the new style seat holders. I bought the kit #81276201 & two of the screw-in plugs #81275001. Then used a hairdryer to heat up the hull & a small chisel to screw the plugs into the holes. With my 10% discount the total was $10.25. Used it once so far so good.

No. Just put the hairdryer inside, thru the center hatch, and blow hot air on the hole until you can feel the plastic is hot and then carefully thread the new plug in. It helps if you have a chisel or screwdriver the exact width of the black plastic plugs to screw them in with.

My kayak is a 2011 model, I think, and the plastic in the holes is fairly thick. If you feel the plastic is thinner, could be on earlier years?, then you might have to also install the 3/4" pvc caps with 2 part super glue epoxy on the inside of the kayak. Or if you blow thru the hull just a little you could just marine goop it. Mine worked out great & I didn't need to do that.

There is a thread on the Hobie forum with the other ways to install ie: tap or glue, but I felt the way I did it was the safest & easiest.

Thank you! I'd like to convert my 2010 revo seat so that both my AI and Revo seats have the same studs. I once took the wrong seat with me and ended up not having a seat to use.
