where can you launch at Bean Hollow and Pescadero, seems pretty rough launch when i fish from shore at those places?

BH has a nasty shorebreak.  I believe PS and Ethan launch from the North side of the cove.  I've only fished there 2x but both times the drift was fast.

I have launched both pescadero itself (south of the little headland on a low tide)

also bean hollow, time launch from south end or try to use shield of north side.

If it's FAC, either are a possibility.

I will probably fish davenport/scott's creek if I want shelter from the nw swell and bean hollow or
pescadero if it's calm and not too windy.

If it's real bad I will fish santa cruz

If there's a killer south swell I will surf!

I will be at Mendo coast near Little River with family. I will squeeze in some time for fishing.

Anyone launching from SantaCruz or HMB mind a newb tagging along?  I want to get out, but it'll be my first time outside of the bay.

If we all end up in the same place maybe a BBQ?  Just throwing it out there.  if not I will eat PBJ by myself :smt009

Last year we met at Ono, However with Devils slide close, Pacifica and HMB are about as close as HMB and Santa Cruz. A little bit of a stretch but not much.  To much for a lunch break.

Jason just give in and come down to HMB, my dad will kill me if we don't go to Onos! The way HMB is going so far you have a good change for the trifeca out of there.

I don't think that the surf factor at bean hollow is any worse than at linda mar.  Pescadero is much better protected than either though, for trips I've been on there's been a 100% success rate for about 10 launches and landings.  Pescadero point juts out enough that one can find a safe place to come in somewhere around it depending on where the swell is coming from.  So far I've only had to use the south side though.

That area is riddled with cabezone, it's not unusual to catch half a dozen in a day.  It made me pretty sad when they axed the recreation limits as a handout to the live fish commercials.  It's seriously F'd up that commercial take can increase by an order of magnitude over a decade and then it's the recreational take that's then cut back.

I plan on hitting HMB for the opener, I've been there once to try surf perch fishing and dinner at Ono's.  Mind if I tag along Bill ?

I think I'm going to try Mill Creek/Limkiln one more time in June, That place is awesome...
Long drive form Modesto though.
