My son, Omar, is a Falcons fan and last year we made a trip out to see them play the Saints in Atlanta...they lost!

This year, we're going to San Diego to watch them play the Chargers.  That's the closest they got to us.  The game is on Sunday 9/23.

Since we're going to be down there, I'm hoping to get us on a charter boat to bring back some meat.   Preferrably something other than Calico's but I'll take them if that's all that's available.

I only have one day, Monday 9/24, to get out there and I'd rather not have to take anything but a cooler to bring back my fish in.

Do you have any recommendations for a boat to go out on?  I've got on a couple of one day trips down there and come back skunked, with Omar with me I'm hoping not to have that happen this time.

With the San Diego landings I always just check the fish counts and try to get on the boat thats been doing the best the previous week or so. There's only a few landings that you can go on the 1/2 day or 3/4 day trips.

party boat fishing in san diego is much different than here..tons of people stuffed onto huge boats, live bait is common..rockfishing is for really small rockfish..last year my dad and i went and he won the jackpot with literally a 1 1/2lb verm.

Fishing has been good down there latley. Check out point loam sport fishing's fish counts. I would try for a 3/4 day or 1 day trip. 3/4 would get you in range for yellow tail, Hali's and WSB if they stick around. 1 day boats were getting in to tuna and dorado. Sea forth has had some 3/4 day boats get dorado and yellow tail too.
