American Tackle made a limited production series of blanks constructed by Lamiglas. They were very reasonably priced and I paid $58 for the blank at the Mudhole black Friday sale last year. I bought it to be my 3rd WSB flyline rod. You never know what you are buying these days and when I got it was a little disappointed that it didn't have a longer graphite section and the S glass tip was a lot softer than I usually use. Seemed to me to be more of a salmon rod than a pelagic rod. I used American Tackle Lite Virtus titanium guides with a Fuji tip and reel seat. Matched it with a Saltist Line counter level wind rigged with 40# powerpro and an oversized aftermarket handle. Well it turned to be a killer salmon, lingcod and WSB rod with my biggest of all 3 species taken on the rig this year. Still prefer my Calstar GFX 700 ML for yellowtail and tuna jigging but what a nice addition to the arsenal. If they make some more of them, check it out.
