[?] Mather Lake - Rancho Cordova CA

Taking the canoe out early Sunday morning to relax with the wife.

Also taking two poles and some tackle. According to a few websites Mather Lake is very weedy right now and Top Water, Jerkbaits, or Senkos will work.

Has anyone been out to fish?

Any tips or tricks, colors or any info would be great.

Will live minnows work? How are the Crappies,Bass?

very very weedy is right, its also heavily fished... but there are a few good bass in there out where the average cast cant reach.  I have done best with dark colors, but don't go there often, as they close the gates at dusk and it is so heavily fished with the catch and keep crowd...
