Fort Ross to Ocean Cove - Mid September - 2 day

I've really been wanting to fish the Fort Ross, Timber Cove, SWN and Ocean Cove area. its about six or seven miles between FR and OC. It's a bit of drive for a one day, so I'm looking at 2-3 days up there. Weekend of Sept 16th or 23rd. Planning on staying a Fort Ross Lodge. They have openings but I need to book soon. Also, thinking about staying one weeknight. They probably have the best availability Sunday / Monday.
This is a family trip. Bringing the family (21 month old son). Would be nice to hookup with another similar couple, or two, where the ladies and kids can hang while we fish. 
If you have an RV and don't want to stay at the Fort Ross Lodge, nearby Ocean Cove has camping
