Looking Homer, AK Halibut boat recommendation

A group of us will be in Homer the last week of Aug,  a halibut trip is on the menu.  I've called a few outfits and looks like space on a boat that week won't be a problem with a couple days notice but none of us have any info other than to pic an operator at random.

Anyone have a recommendation?

If you're willing to drive north about 40 mi. I know a great guy. I grew up fishin' with him in the seventies and when he turned 18 he got his skippers license and moved to Alaska.
