A group of us will be in Homer the last week of Aug,  a halibut trip is on the menu.  I've called a few outfits and looks like space on a boat that week won't be a problem with a couple days notice but none of us have any info other than to pic an operator at random.

Anyone have a recommendation?

If you're willing to drive north about 40 mi. I know a great guy. I grew up fishin' with him in the seventies and when he turned 18 he got his skippers license and moved to Alaska. He's been running his own operation up there ever since. His name is Steve Smith and his record speaks for itself. Check him out.

Fishkraft, thanks for the contact, and Jim, don't worry, the camera will be with me.
