I went out at Fort Ross today & had the place to myself, sunny day with virtually no swell & only light wind.  It was my third time out on the ocean & the first time I CAUGHT FISH THERE.  I got one black & one (to me) beautiful vermilion of 2 lbs.  I couldn't have been more stoked.  Thanks for the all of the encouragement & useful info that I've gotten from NCKA members I've met & from the website.  I've already come to the conclusion that this is the best hobby/obsession of all time...

O yeah it's an obsession and it gets worse.
My biggest worry is that my wife(when I'm dead)will sell my fishing gear for what I said I paid for it

Welcome aboard Jack. Yeah, it is hard not to get hooked into the sport. The big plus of it all is getting to meet a whole lot of great folks that shares the same passion.

Welcome aboard and to the madness.  Thanks for the "first fish" from kayak report.
