since i havnt been able to go fishing i havnt been in a hurry to install my electronics.so today i had a little free time sorta.i wanted to install my battery so it would have minimal movement.ive been looking for waterproof boxses but couldnt find any to fit my batt.so i stumbled onto the hobie forum a while back and decided ill go this way until i find a bettere way.i figured i wont be going to the back hatch while im on the water so i went ahead and did it this way.i took the hobie gear bucket and cut the plastic pieces out to fit the batt.the fuse holder is a water proof one i got from west marine.if you decide to go this way cut the exit hole for the wire to go out a little lower so you can get it in and out of the hatch easier
My biggest worry is that my wife(when I'm dead)will sell my fishing gear for what I said I paid for it

Very nice!  Would be nice if kayak companies would make a hatch similar to that exclusively for FF installs.  Shame you had to sacrifice that compartment - but, like you - I would have.  Clean, accessible - two thumbs up!

How did you mount the transducer to the PA 12?  I was wondering what the difference btw the Hummingbird transducer vs Lowrance.

the pa12 comes pre rig so mounting it was easy.if you go to" warning, contents may be offensive to some viewers"in hobie kayaks youll see my whole rigging up section.there is no real difference between the two.until you get into the actual model itself.the down scan has a cigar shaped ducer where the regular has a traditional puck style
