What a classic FS mtb!
Those things were fun. I remember the last ones they released back in late 90's...

How original are the parts?  I'm assuming with 8-speed must be pretty close to OEM

It was only made for 2 years in 1995 & 1996.  I belive this is the 1996 model.  It was top of the line for that time.  They are still actively ridden and have a bit of a "cult" following.  Trek was a true trailblazer in the sport of bikes with the Y-Foil design and use of C.F. for a frame material.  Their Foil road bikes were actually "outlawed" due to the low weight and extreme performance from some official events.  They now require a triangle design to be accepted to select events.  I have one of the Y-Foil road bikes and ABSOLUTELY love it.  this is the 2nd Y-22 mountain bike I have owned.  This one just didn't get any use....

I have always wanted a Y-22, those things are just sick!  If I weren't 5' 7" I'd be all over this thing, that's a great deal!

The frame size is medium so a ruder under the 6' mark is truthfully ideal by the standards of frame size (Medium - 18" frame).  They made the frame sizes on this bike somewhat weird.  Because the frames are a Y design, they allow for much smaller riders to fit the frame geometry.  I digress .... this would be an acceptable frame size for a 5'7" rider ...  try it on?  I have the seat tube at almost it's fullest extension to fit me at 6' to 6'1".  From my current seat setup, it can be lowered another 5" to the top of the seat clamp.  Final note again ... it is a Medium frame size.

I have a "showing" on Tuesday which may lead to a possible sale?  Keep you posted!  Prefer to sell to Ncka but any sell is a good sell.

Thanks again, all!!!

It's all shimano, deore.  I hall a full list of specs on craigslist, San Francisco. Just search trek y-22 and the full info should some up.  Bike is original stock except for the grips.  Just changed those a few weeks ago but will include some original extras such as the bull horns, kickstand, etc...  I'm also including a rear shock pump I just bought a couple weeks ago for $50.
