One word to described it "Epic weekend at Albion". Left San Leandro around 11am Friday morning, made a quick stop at Cloverdale for lunch. Back on the road again around 1:30pm and arrived at Albion campground around 3:15pm and setup camp. After setting up camp, decided to take advantage of a beautiful weather and flat ocean up there so suited up and paddled the kayak just short of the point at the north side of the cove. Dove in 30' of h2o and picked about 8 uni for dinner. Also scope out few spots for the next day dive. Back at camp and prepared dinner, talked to some locals up there and the word is that the salmon bite by the buoy is off the hook.

Saturday, the plan was to dive first, then salmon fishing and then rockfishing. Woke up at 6:30am and was treated with another beautiful weather and a flat ocean. About 7:15am, paddled out to the spot that I scoped out the day before and jumped in and picked 3 fat abs out of that area. Went back to camp dropped of the diving gear/abs and setup the kayak for fishing. About 8:30am paddled out to the buoy and dropped down an anchovy on the FBR. I was using a deep six diver and 25 pulls. In about 15 minutes after deploying the FBR, I got a first takedown and within 10 minutes battle, he was in the net. Dropped back down and trolled around for about 45 minutes before I got another takedown, got him in the net after about 15 minutes battle.  This is the first time I hooked and landed salmon from a kayak, what a blast. Fish weighed around 10 & 15 lbs.  Went back to camp and dropped the two salmon off and headed back out for rockfishing. I went north of the point in 65' of water and I got quick limit of rockies in 45 minutes using swim bait tip with squid. Nothing to brag about but a nice stringer of rockies.

Sunday, another beautiful day and lake like condition, decided no diving and no salmon since the wife wants no salmon or abs. So the plan was to target some reds and mr ling. Paddled out to the same spot I was fishing yesterday and I got my full stringer of rockies in 30 minutes but no reds or mr ling. So went in and had a hardy breakfast and help packing. As we were packing, Mr. Tote and his wife arrived and setup camp at their site, I went over and chatted with him a little bit and gave him the rundown on the fishing. Well hope the weather holds up for this coming weekend. Hope to see you all up there, I'm still looking for a spot to camp at this coming weekend. Overall, great weekend, great weather, excellent fishing and a whole lot of paddling.

Brudah Mooch, I had 4 dive trip with that wetsuit and let me tell you this, I don't know why I waited this long to buy an open cell suit.  I had to kick myself for not getting one for a long time. Mahalo for the wetsuit and it is definitely in good use.

Nice going Fredie. Too bad Albion wasn't last weekend. Looks like it's shaping up for another washing machine this weekend. Never fails when you try to set something up so far in advance........ Oh well, what ya gonna do?
