So I figure its gonna be be hella hot on our camping trip to Hensley Lake in a couple weeks and the sun will be beating down on me so I made a canopy for my yak. Its not the prettiest thing but what do you expect for throwing it together in a couple hours. Since its at a lake I dont think it will be to much of a bother as long as the wind isnt blowing to hard. Anyways just wanted to share it with ya guys.

Very cool.  I wouldn't mind making one of those.  What did you make it out of?

Very cool.  I wouldn't mind making one of those.  What did you make it out of?

I used 1/2 inch emt conduit for the frame mounted it to a 28 x 4 inch strip of 1inch HDPE from  taps plastic for the base and ill mount it to my yak via the slide trax so I dont have to do any drilling to the yak for easy on off. The top is made from a nap pad my wife has or had for her daycare.LOL she was getting rid of it anyways. Which should work out good since it is ventilated and should not catch as much wind as a solid piece of fabric. I was going to buy some of the shade fabric from lowes garden dept which is ventilated as well but used that since it was there and free. Hope this helps.

Thanks do they just stick the umbrella in a pole holder? That may have been easier. Lol
