Hey gang,

Launched off MBK at 9am this morning (did not participate in the Derby).

Bite was HOT today - caught over 30 fish in 3.5 hours of fishing, at least half on the fly rod (5wt, sinking line). Two really nice lings (blue ling on the fly that I almost lost in the kelp twice); big ling went 10 pounds easily. Lots of nice Olives, and assorted rockfish everywhere. Calm seas and light winds - fabulous day on the water. Can't complain!

Congrats, thats a great day of fishing.  Is your thumb raw, bit up and bloodied?
Take some, but save some for later.

Awesome! Those lings must have felt like monsters on your 5wt.  How deep do you think your line is getting? Are you just casting and striping in line or are you casting and back paddling?
Thanks for the pictures and report.

Hi Yelloboy:

Your a real Sportmans using such light and costly Tackle.
I would never go out and fish the Pacific with less than 20 Lb Test.
