Looks like Thursday might be a good day to drag a herring around the bottom of the HMB area to see what comes up. I'm only going out if others show up (gotta build up the WAF account  :smt008.) 6 AM.

Possibly, but the WAF account is low, and the only days then would be Mon/Tue/Wed.

I'd be happy with rockfish, happier with a ling, and ecstatic with salmon. My plan is to drift while mooching a herring near the bottom, or wherever my FF marks fish.

Wish I could make this happen, but I've decided I can't go out tomorrow because I am not feeling well. Grrrr. :sad8:

Hey guys. I'm looking at doing my first HMB trip this Saturday A.M.. Will any of you be out there?Any suggestions on where to launch, fish, and where to find the live bait pen?

There is a live bait receiver there but I have never seen anyone there selling. There is often bait in and just outside of the harbor so if they are there bring a sabiki and make your own bait. Live bait works well for Hali's, but when squid is the predominant source of food, which it is right now at least inshore, dragging a frozen squid on the bottom should work fine. There are a couple of places to launch but I usually launch in front of the kayak rental tent.
